Fish House

We love fish house! It is one of not many places in Bucharest where you can find really fresh seafood, great atmosphere and impeccable service! The chef is from Croatia so all the dishes have Mediterranean touch, love them all! Try sea bass carpaccio....my favorite! Also, during the summer, they have lovely terrace! Highly recommend this place!

Lovely and great tasting food, super friendly staff. When they heard that someone from our party was from Croatia the owner came out to say hi and they put on some Croatian music. We had a great time.

They had a special 1/2 lbs (250g) "jumbo prawn" it was cooked to perfection (most places over cook and texture becomes mushy) in a light but very tasty white wine reduction... Seriously the best prawn dish I've ever had so far!!! Plus very friendly and attentive service!!! Highly recommend!!!

The quality of the fish was very good and the service was outstanding. Overall the experience was good, with the prices maybe being too high, but this is understandable, not being enough quality restaurants of this type in Bucharest.

I must admit that we were prepared for something else. The kinds of fish they offer can generally be found in other restaurants of the same type, too. I didn't see too many exotic entries in the menu, and the recipe used for the fish preparation looked quite usual (at least for the dishes we ordered). Served with lemon juice, tomato sauce, paired with vegetables, marinated, boiled or grilled beforehand, the food was good, though no "revolution of tastes" could have been discovered overall. In addition, a pretty consistent noise surrounded us all the time, you couldn't really hear your partner's voice at the table. Not a fine dining atmosphere at all, but more like a pub or tavern environment. So was the service, too, this time in a positive way, the waitress served us kindly and always asked about the food. What did we eat? The amuse bouche vanished somewhere between the kitchen and our table, so we started with the ... "starters". Our choice fell on two of the "Ceviche" dishes, one with langoustine and the other with sea bass. An excellent decision, they were properly marinated and flavored, accompanied with different type of crude vegetables, worthy of fine dining. Small, but delicious portions. Unfortunately, the main course was exactly the opposite of the them. Quantity beat quality once more, and the huge seafood platter combined with asparagus dropped the final score. The related ingredients were not so carefully prepared, and there was so much tomato sauce in the plate ... my luck that I didn't wear a white shirt and I put the apron on before eating (special thanks to the waitress). In the end, a quite nice place, but nothing extra. It would get 4 stars in the category of fish-specific restaurants, but only 3 in the fine dining one.

Amazing food! Really fresh fish and very nicely prepared. We tried the seabass carpaccio, shrimps, calamari, the salmon sashimi and ceviche, all of which were outstanding! Very good service, higly recommended.

excellent fish to be had, displayed at the entrance for your enjoyment. The ceviche was good but a bit bland, the seabass carpaccio was outstanding. Bucharest didn't seem to have that many options to try good fish, and this restaurant surely seems the best alternative, though it is a bit pricey.

This is my second visit after my first, 12 months ago. It’s just as wonderful. A good varied menu, delightful outside seating, staff that are accommodating and so relaxed and of course delicious fish. We had a sea bass grilled to perfection and the awesome potato chips.

everything was wonderful. The service was first rate. The server was knowledgeable and extremely nice. When I wasn't sure of which fresh fish I wanted he showed me the fish and cut a piece to the size I wanted. Recommended n excellent roumanian red wine and did everything he could to make a great dining experience. Very pleasant outdoor setting on a quiet street. Evrerything ordered was superb. These guys really know how to do fish Only thing is to careful with is the address. The restaurant is not on the street of its address but around the corner.

Good experience at this restaurant: well prepared salmon tartar, prawns and fresh Dorado on a baby spinach bed. All together with a well chilled white Romanian wine.

Fish House is probably the best restaurant in Bucharest. I know what I am talking about. I know the Romanian cuisine very well and I am a (Belgian) restaurant owner myself. The people are very friendly, the ingredients are well balanced and the dishes are simple but original. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star!

We have been to the Fish House a few times already with family and friends, and we enjoyed it every time. We like the food, the atmosphere, the service and we would choose to come here again for the seafood soup, the salmon tartar, the fish, the risotto, and the good time.

This restaurant is absolutely to try. It is a bit pricy but this is totally justified by the high quality of ingredients and the service. We found this place while looking to have a break from meat-based menus and it was one of the best meals in Bucharest. We had grilled octopus, fried calamari and grilled vegetables. Delicious. The atmosphere is a little pretentious but we did not bother at all because of all positive things.

The vibe is cosy and the food was tasty and very fresh. I will give just 4/5 as I would expect more types of fish in a restaurant named "fish house". Other than that, the food was good, and for my surprise I also found delicious no 2 oysters, which are not in the menu. The deserts are good too: tried the home made parfait and tiramisu.

The staff was amazing and the food....wow!! We ate tuna tartare, ceviche and seabass carpaccio and then grilled octopus and grilled fish. Everything was good!!!!

Of all well-renowned and unknonwn restaurants we've visited in Bucharest this is by far the best. Excellent service; we ordered one glass of wine (perfect balanced) and they refilled it, they placed the fork to my right for the main dish since they obviously noticed how I place my cutlery from the starter, and the food was on top. We had the shrimps and the octupus and both were marvelous. It's a bit outside the city but we'll worth the taxi ride!
